My Ticket to Moyn Festival 2023, a nice one-week-project involving building something nice out of scrap material as well as implementing the software using a Microcontroller and a Raspberry Pi:
Inside this enclosure, there’s a Raspberry Pi connected to an Arduino, which registers the crank turning via a rotary encoder. The faster you crank, the faster the song plays! Hitting the hedgehog plays the next song.
The only information I received in advance was, that there will be a barrel organ, which is supposed to run electronically. Thus, the only thing I could do to prepare is print some way of receiving the crank signal. On site, it turned out that there wasn’t even a barrel organ after all, so additionally to the code, I also had to build the thing. I think it turned out pretty nifty anyway :)
